Surprisingly good bit of folk/cult horror that does a capable job of dangling supernatural threads throughout without going overboard, all leading to a decent climax. It isn't 'great,' there were plenty of areas that probably could've used some improvement, especially the hammer drops in the third act, but there is a substantial amount of meat on the bone that might make this worth more than a single watch. If anything it is almost like they set out to make a midling movie and exceeded their goal, especially carried by the two leads.

This is without a doubt the best historical/war miniseries there has ever been, and is unlikely to ever be topped. Even The Pacific failed to capture the magic that is present through these 10 episodes. Doesn't matter how many times I've watched it, if it is on, I'm watching it again. Great ensemble cast who do a terrific job of going from goofing around to dealing with the hell of war within a moments notice.

This movie is rightfully getting panned for just being terrible. An edgy attempt at Winnie The Pooh that winds up being the same kind of crap you get whenever you let someone take an edgy stab at any traditional material. Characters are beyond basic and flat, lacking any depth beyond single personality traits. Unnecessary shaky cam, unnecessarily shaky plot if you can even salvage one. Just bad all around, not even a fun watch.

Despite having watched this a half dozen plus times, I chose this to be the first movie I watched of 2024. One of the best Sci-Fi/Action movies of the past decade. Action set pieces are entertaining, but even better is how the whole narrative is handled. Actors do a great job in their role. I can't imagine how much more enjoyable this might be to a first timer going in and watching it without any existing knowledge.
