A Walk Among the Tombstones 2014
The world needs more grim film noir. And this movie delivers it. Liam Neeson solving mysteries will always be a fun watch to me. I love that in this dark tale it doesn’t turn the villain into some genius with a twisting plot. It’s just some sick evil weirdos and Liam Neeson, a flawed unlicensed detective seeks to deliver justice.

“You can never balance the scales of suffering”
This film is absolutely magnificent. George Miller already proved to be the master of creating epic desert wasteland battles, he does it once again. Diesel fueled battle and maniacal personalities shine in another epic story from the world of Mad Max. Dementus is a hell of a villain, and Furiosa being the centerpiece and seeing what events created the majestic femme fatale of fury road make this movie so damn good.

Michael makes films for the boys and he is in peak form here. Shootouts with klansman, Haitians, and the Spanish distributor of souped up ecstasy that’s killing young folks. Car chases, explosions, a hilarious bromance between Martin Lawrence and Will Smith all sum up to 5 stars from me. Michael Bay was in peak form cooking up this epic sequel.

Bizarre movie. Feels like I just didn’t get it. I know this movie is beloved by many but it certainly wasn’t my cup of tea. Dennis Hopper’s unhinged performance definitely ups the rating for me.
