Here I am again giving stars to a film I hate because the lead actor gave it everything she had. Can we please stop celebrating films that misrepresent and abuse women (SW in particular) for the entire run time, please?

Moana 2 2024
Moana is my 2yo daughter’s first pop culture obsession and I’ve seen the first one probably a literal hundred times and still love it immensely. It’s so special to me because of my kid and getting to watch Moana 2 for the first time with my little family felt magically significant. But you know, this was never going to stand up to the first and that’s ok.
It’s still super cute. Loved all the callbacks. Instant tears when ‘gramma’ appears, as expected. Story was a little flat and songs not nearly as memorable, Maui’s being the best.
