I am heavily biased since I care deeply about cats. Know this going forward.
I think that what makes this movie special is that, by identifying with a protagonist who is a cat, we are liberated from the task of interpreting the enigmatic plot devices such as the mysterious wooden cat sculptures, the flood, and the bird who might be Jesus.
