  I love every scene where the entire government is after him and he is just out in the open looking like his mugshot and the person next to him comes to this slow realization that it's him

  At times it did feel like two movies happening at the same time with one being a social critique and the other a family drama but in my opinion it served the main character well and I was never fed up with the characters represented by the dual sides of the film. Way funnier than I expected it to be

  I adore this film for a number of it's choices: the hodge podge Victorian borderline Steampunk Metropolis aesthetic, the bendy stringed score, and the out-of-the-park acting performances from everybody especially Stone and Ruffalo. I don't quite see this film as a feminist piece of work, which a lot of people refuse to call it anyway with the extensive sex scenes and lack of menstruation (given that Bella is a lab experiment I kinda excuse this).
