"what an unusual, creepy, old, big, large, blue house"
yeah this was really good!! at my absolute upper limit for enjoyable horror and it took a bit for Hugh Grant to surpass Paddington 2 scariness but yeah!!
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I cannot rate this because on the one hand this is one of the strangest and funniest things I've ever seen with the CGI baby (learning about the existence of chuckesmee has been truly disturbing), ...Jacob..., the bizarre dialogue and just everything else
but on the other hand the actual physical reaction I had to Carlisle being beheaded was visceral and then the reveal of the twist as well. holy shit
just what an absolutely weird and silly set of movies,, they'd be so much better if there was even just a hint of irony to them but alas
uoy ssleb!
i can't believe it's been nearly 7 years since I last saw this
it's definitely very different the rest of the 'goes wrong' Cornley-verse ventures but still extremely good! To have both the gags and jokes as well as have a quite emotional and compelling story run in tangent and have both elements work and evoke reactions for each is incredibly impressive and the mischief theatre lot are consistently very good at that (case and point; the Hell or High Rollers podcast by some of the cast (which I highly recommend))
was so incredibly locked in that I just about managed to ignore my entire family talking over this the whole time
