I really enjoyed this movie. It feels like the first time I watched the 1954 Godzilla: not expecting much more than a monster movie, but getting a deeply thoughtful and important message focusing on the nature of humans instead. Where the 1954 movie warned about creating dangerous weapons (and the revenge nature would take), this 2023 movie sends a message of human resilience and hope for the future despite the traumas and futile wars in the past. Minus One is a great movie that has re-sparked my interest in Godzilla and the many thought-provoking, humanist stories he might offer.
