Seriously lovely writing (the homily??) love the messaging, the layered themes of masculinity vs femininity, true goodness.
Only reason it’s not 5 stars is there was some unrealism (born and raised catholic, can’t escape it) and some melodrama. Otherwise one of my favorites of the Oscar noms this year 🫶
Ok so I eventually came around on the musical aspect of this, but like leaving this movie more confused than enlightened. Like was this movie about past mistakes? Trans rights? The drug cartels? Is it a Dorian Gray moral story is it the person or the situation? (I think we lean more on it being “the person” meaning here)
Idk the transgender aspect I didn’t fully understand here.. like I did..but I didn’t… bruh
