  watched this for my research project (though it is slightly out of my timeframe) to get a perspective on how the british public perceived the threat of nuclear war.
  very spooky, very heavy, primo acting, true kino.

  though i have one complaint:
  the tsar bomba (the largest nuclear weapon ever detonated) had a yield of 50 megatons. how in god’s name were 3000 megatons dropped on the uk alone.

  the thing is the best horror film ever made. i love it. watch it.
  it subverts common horror stereotypes from the 80s, that being that the victims were all teenagers having sex in either a spooky lake or on the spooky haunted street, which isn’t a BAD thing but it’s kind of oversaturated. the thing instead gives us a cast of very very intelligent men that try their very best in a situation completely alien to them. the odds are…
