You don’t know what it is to laugh, cry, scream, cheer, gasp, and have the overwhelming urge to call your grandma all within a two hour span until you’ve watched Thelma. This movie had me needing to talk to my grandma Judy so bad, I just adore Thelma so much. A reminder of family, and love, and finding yourself and friendships throughout any stage of life. I loved watching Thelma and her grandson discover new parts of themselves and what they want in life at the same time. I just couldn’t handle how sweet this movie was. Uhhhhhhg.
Watched this for the second time tonight. Something about this thriller keeps me coming back again. I think it’s Teresa Palmer’s performance. Her voice is so calm, but her face is is so alarming. It’s captivating to watch. I find myself forgetting to breath during certain scenes. This movie keeps a really good pace the whole time, and I love that we get to know the antagonist as much as the protagonist.
It’s not like this movie was ground breaking, I was just walking in the desert for too long, and was thirsty for a new romcom to save my spirits. This movie was everything I needed it to be, and then some.
It took a lot of the old romcom tropes that we know and love, but kept it fresh and relevant for today. They replaced the sassy gbf (gay best friend) with a believable same sex couple, who was there…
