The way this film is shot is so raw and unflitered; it does not hesiate to focus on the extremity of violence, and the scenes involving children are especially harrowing. One of the best examples of utter suspense that I have seen. Movie takes off immediately and never stops building. I felt winded at the end. At first I thought Jackman was stealing the show, but Gyllenhaal delivered such a nuanced and subtle performance that I came away thinking he was the highlight of the film.
