  i cried so hard that wiping my face was futile and now my cheeks are cold and sticky. seeing pure love that asks for nothing in return gets me every time, especially with father figures. i understand the confliction about this movie and understand that context is the primary factor. however, i wholeheartedly believe that léon loves mathilda as family, and wants to preserve her feelings and allow her a sense of agency!! chosen family is my soft spot dear god
