This felt like a back to the roots last run. The pacing was very episodic, but not in a bad way. This puts a nice cap on the films the way that the previous film couldn’t have done. A simple who dunnit added a small sense of mystery along with the imprisonment. Diplomatic relations added a weight of tension as well. Overall this was very enjoyable and a great send off. It’s clear that 2-4 is somewhat of a trilogy with the others feeling like outliers

They steal a beaten down Enterprise to defy the Federation on their attempts to rescue Spok’s soul. Sulu doesn’t typically get many cool moments and this film he takes down a big security guard, which was silly but fun. Christopher Lloyd gives us a peek behind the curtain as a Klingon commander.
