This felt like a back to the roots last run. The pacing was very episodic, but not in a bad way. This puts a nice cap on the films the way that the previous film couldn’t have done. A simple who dunnit added a small sense of mystery along with the imprisonment. Diplomatic relations added a weight of tension as well. Overall this was very enjoyable and a great send off. Live long and Prosper

All of the momentum is gone. It’s hard to believe that this film cost more to make than all the others. As an official Trekkie I can say that I enjoyed it, but there really wasn’t a whole lot to take away from this one. There were some of the campiest scenes (oh gosh I wasn’t even referring to the scenes where they are actually camping). Overall it was fine. It’s clear that 2-4 is somewhat of a trilogy with the others feeling like outliers

Downsizing 2017
The world building in this film is phenomenal. My biggest issue is with the story in itself. The characters and story are boring. The idea would do great as a tv series IMO

Sulu doesn’t typically get many cool moments and this film he takes down a big security guard, which was silly but fun. Christopher Lloyd gives us a peek behind the curtain as a Klingon commander.
