I knew there would be a twist at the end, but one moving monologue wouldn’t be enough to turn things around like that. I may have been expecting this to be more like Name of the Rose but instead it was pettier drama.
I also don’t know how I feel when films including trans people as the “ta-da!” moment actually makes the film groundbreaking. But those sets and cinematography were truly stunning.
