I was lucky enough to attend a screening with a short Q&A with the director where he talked about his connection to the movie musical and how he drew inspiration for the son character from his own life.
I don't quite know what to say. The long shots make the movie a lot more claustrophobic and does a good job of making you feel like there's nowhere else to be, no one else to watch.

I unfortunately fell asleep just before the midpoint (late screening) and imagined I had missed a lot. No one I was there with could tell me what had happened.
The first half has a very distinct style with striking cinematography, interesting surrealist elements and lots of humour. The second half seemed much more wandering and I couldn't shake the feeling I had missed something.
I quite liked the final scene, which was sweet. Some hope did good.

Veldig, veldig morsom! Det er et visst "Hør her'a for voksne"-preg, ment på mest positive vis. Hele salen lo godt, og humoren om det norske samfunnet var veldig godt observert!
