La Chimera 2023
Operatic. There were some brilliant moments, particularly the start. But felt like there was a whole narrative about his girlfriend which was there for some emotional response but it felt empty, untouched and unncessary. And some moments were obvious it felt like writing for the plot rather than for the character.

The Zone of Interest 2023
Incredible how the filmmaking made it so horrible. The stylistic choices of sound and shot evoked a great sense of terror that meant the subject matter could truly consume the viewer. For me, the consuming feeling of horror while watching the film closed the gap between the historical events and the modern audience, forcing real engagement.
I want to know how they made those hellish sounds.

I love this guy and I greatly enjoyed attending this fairytale of events along with him. When the giraffe appeared I thought, ok he’s gone to far this is silly. And then when his friend left and we turned back to see no giraffe, i cried.
haha. I like this film. I don’t think I’ve ever liked a character so much.
