Is Anora a bad movie? No. Did it deserve its 2025 Oscar award for Best Picture, over The Brutalist, The Conclave, A Complete Unknown or Dune Part Two? No.
The film is kind of a goofy, debauched mash-up of Pretty Woman and Cinderella. It has some funny moments, but the film suffers from dodgy editing - many of the scenes seemed too long and drawn out. The direction beats certain themes to death.
