i liked this movie but it seemed detached from itself. it’s so boring when men who seem to have never respected women as ever just human beings capable of complex thought try to make a movie from their lives. what comment can jean-luc godard make on the oppressions and experiences of sexism from a woman’s perspective that is worth while?
the form of this movie is good though and i liked it’s casual nature; i think it could almost pass as a good film (especially considering anne karinas just great performance) if it didn’t end as it did.

I like to pretend the ending doesn’t happen in this movie but otherwise I love it… it’s soooo weird and bad and good.

How Do I Look 2006
a wonderful “sequel” to paris is burning; more accurate and less exploitative look at the new york ballroom scene created by someone actually active inside the culture.
