All Is True 2018
I would’ve said this film outlines the bleakness of the final years of Shakespeare’s life and contrasts the drama in his plays, which were enriched by reconnecting with a family he had abandoned for his career, concluding a beautiful tale about an estranged husband and father coming home.
I would’ve said that if this film wasn’t so boring. 2 stars.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes 2023
This is a mess. The writing feels rushed, characters are underdeveloped and the plot seems to be both wildly confusing and incredibly boring.
If youre going to make a film this long, there should at least be moments where the audience can pause and breathe and take in the world of Panem. But the pace of this film is so fast you can hardly digest anything, and thus care about nothing.
I want the beautiful sweeping shots of District 12 from the first Hunger Games movie back.
