  A powerful script and riveting performances from the four leads carry the weight of this film. Being filmed as a stage play has its benefits, namely the conversation taking place during the Jim Crow era within the confines of a motel room which amplifies the gravity of the subject matter. Unfortunately, it also has its limitations and visually this fell pretty flat.

Surprisingly smart in the twists it utilizes to advance the plot, along with solid humor throughout. My queen Sophie Thatcher continues to rise to the occasion and I eagerly look forward to seeing her career take off.
