terribly written. galo and lio have no chemistry, platonically or romantically. the allegorical function of the burnish falls completely apart by the end.
it is so fun to watch this movie with someone who has never seen it before yelling “HOLY SHIT!” at every new sequence. having admittedly only seen one other full release by Trigger, i feel that this arrogant self-referential feast of colors and sounds makes at least two of their series completely obsolete for me. its awesome.

the way characters talk in this movie (as with many other coen brothers movies) is so perfectly exaggerated in such a specific way. no one talks like this, but not in the usual script way. people feel like they talk like this? it’s good. so funny. love how violence is done too (quickly, upsettingly, stupidly)
