Anything review that I could write about this movie wouldn’t do it justice. However, some thoughts -
1. Colman Domingo deserves all the flowers.
2. All of the “as himself” credits made me cry for the 10th time during the movie.
3. I look forward to Clarence “Divine Eye” Maclin getting a LOT more roles in the future
4. Knowing literally anything about the US prison system should be enough to radicalize the masses

Nearly every horror trope this movie goes for, it nails. Some jump-scares felt undeserved, but other than that this movie is a flawless take on the subgenre. Having kids be a main aspect of the "evil" was so sickening.. I love it!
Also shoutout Ethan Hawke, making the committee of Ethans proud
One of my favorite horror movies oaT. I know that a meta-narrative in horror is divisive, but I think it's done well here. The one scene (you know the one) is one of the coolest scenes in horror cinema imho, and was great cameo-hunting for fans of the horror genre.
Wow. Not every day you get to watch something as good as this film for the first time. The characters are so so complex, the topics are not always so black and white, the dark humor is certainly there and is used well to break up sad moments. And this movie has me thinking that the Missouri countryside might actually be… beautiful? I loved this one.
