Anthony Mackie deserves so much better.

Somewhere underneath all this sea of pointlessness and mediocrity there’s probably something 7/10 worthy. It’s just such a meandering movie where you can scene-by-scene point out what was from one of the 700 reshoots and rewrites.

I would go more in depth with examples but much like my general thoughts on this movie, “what’s the point?”

At first I really thought this would be purely about the corrupt and easily manipulation of events through morally grey journalism efforts.

Which it still is, but it also really wants to drill home about how bad these evil Palestinians are without ever once noting what could’ve possibly been the lead up to this. All it does is try to make you feel terrible for these Israelis with names and lives and positive lines about the IDF “wanting to help”.…

It’s so interesting comparing Bong’s English films vs his Korean ones. Almost feeding into the wests weird exaggerated form of politics (Snowpiercer, Okja and this are too scarily accurate).

Rpats and Bong are an absolute perfect match and even better that we get to soak up double the amount of him since we might not see them working together again anytime soon.

Jung cooks once again with another banger score (someone pls give him all the awards ever).

Mark Ruffalo is hamming it up in the best possible way, seriously never seen this guy be this hilarious ever.

An absolute ball to revisit after a long-ass time.

Leigh Whannell really does not get enough credit for what he did to Saw, SO MANY major themes and ideas all came from his brain.

Just absolutely crazy that 2 Aussies were able to drop something this impactful in film. Truely carrying the aussie underdog legacy.

And yes the “Hello Zepp” theme plays in the Saw documentary.

This hit extremely close to me due to my Superman obsessed grandpa who was also disabled being one of the strongest and resilient people I’ve ever known.

    Cried like a bitch.

    Always missing you grandpa ❤️🕊️
