  How in the world the great Paul Thomas Anderson balanced the stories of nine protagonists to make this absolute masterpiece is so beyond me. This film demands respect, and the fact it doesn’t get more than it does is criminal. Everybody in this film puts in an impressive performance, especially Tom Cruise who embodies the character of an emotionally damaged misogynist to a disturbing degree of accuracy. All of this, paired with a soundtrack from Aimee Mann which gives the movie a unique tone, makes this an unforgettable film.
