  I laughed so hard at Icarus "rolling his ball into the sun" that I woke the dog.

  There’s always the danger of returning to a childhood favourite, but Heavyweights is funny throughout, the cast is great and in the days of the bare minimum of visual gags in comedy movies, some moments just shone.

  A Different Man 2024

  A whirlwind of anxiety that finds so much humanity within the exploitation of "Edward" despite the constant hatred, fetishization and misrepresentation he faces.

  And above all else, the irony of it all is superb. There are small moments (Guy’s real estate ad being defaced into Hitler after he’s gone through a treatment rooted in Eugenics) and big (Ingrid’s ongoing fetishization and profiteering off of Edward is some of the most fascinating moments of the film), but it all sings.

  Definitely a highlight of the year and one that leaves plenty for after the watch.
