At the Door of the House Who Will Come Knocking 2024
A film that feels as if it has been tailor-made to win a festival award (which it did). Not an enjoyable experience; extremely slow with confusing metaphors and inconsistent with genre conventions. The touch of the filmmakers is very obvious in places, and it breaks the authenticity. It feels almost exploitative to record this extremely lonely and unhappy individual for what amounts to a documentary that lacks a real narrative beyond its portrayal of isolation.
