Godzilla Minus One 2023
This could be the greatest emotional impact a film has ever had on me. AND he has laser breath.
p.s. I am surprised to say that G-1 minus color does a lot for the watch experience. The black and white really does a lot to gel the grounded nature of the films non-godzilla scenes with the large-scale stompy CGI of the big guy’s moments.

Trolls Band Together 2023
This movie released in the same year as Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Across the Spider-Verse, Mutant Mayhem, AND The Boy and the Heron. I am stunned that it belongs in the same sentence as those films. The trollmakers have captured lightning in a bottle. They did not do this in the first two, and they will not replicate it again.
