    With no previous experience of the book or musical, I feel like this was not the way to be introduced - music was nice, visuals were nice, story was moving, but overall it just seemed like a pretty pedestrian experience of a musical turned film.

    A thoroughly engrossing epic with amazing acting a cinematography. The end sequences were hella confusing and probably raised more new questions than answered but on the whole I really enjoyed it.

    I'd been avoiding this docu-series for a while and when I started watching, I remembered why. It's incredibly heart-wrenching and infuriating throughout, though I'm glad they do sprinkle a few nuggets of positivity and hope before they tear it all down again. Filmed and produced before the pandemic, but perhaps even more depressing is that I'm not sure how much of this has changed in the last 3.5 years.

    All that being said, i think it's required viewing for Americans and it was a very well made documentary.

    Wow, my mom has been watching this annually for years and I finally sat down to watch it with her this year. I now understand what the fuss is all about. Beautiful and uplifting.

    But my favorite funny-but-maybe-not-meant-to-be-funny line was Nick saying "We serve hard drinks in here for men who want to get drunk fast, and we don't need any characters around to give the joint 'atmosphere'
