story and characters are not as fleshed out but only at this point did it hit me how comically and tragically long ripley has been fighting off aliens. like damn this woman really cannot catch a break! seeing her as a shell of herself was pretty sad. I told myself this would be my last film of the franchise (out of fear of a film ruining everything for me) but I still find so much about this world that fascinates me. onwards
