The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie 2024
A truly silly and heartfelt delight. Run, don't walk to the theater to support this beautiful little film! Packed to the brim with great gags. Nothing too groundbreaking but very timeless and fun and honestly felt like a breath of fresh air compared to the irony soaked "post-modern" meta stuff that studios tend to pigeonhole cartoon characters into. I love cartoons and silliness and all that stuff.

"You got, like, Gatorade or anything besides Maryland swamp water?"
A classic Coen brothers romp. It's insane that this came out right after No Country for Old Men, but it's so dark and funny and nihilistic that it fits perfectly into their filmography. Like "No Country", "Fargo," and even "Macbeth" this film argues a nihilistic worldview, that life is not a vast conspiracy to untangle and control, but instead an arbitrary string of terrible events that you may or may not find yourself coming out of alive.
