A lousy foreseeable plot, mediocre acting and no feeling of engagement with the characters whatsoever. Don’t look up 2.0. How did this guy bring us Snowpiercer and Parasite?! Cinematography was nice.

A Complete Unknown 2024
This movie has many moments I’ve seen many times before in biopics. I.e.: a scene where someone’s walking past a bar, hearing someone play a song and immediately falling in love with that person. Or the ‘go for the girl or for the fame!’ scene. Definitely not an original rockstar origin story!
However!! I would’ve loved to find Timmy unbelievable as Bob but he’s simply too good an actor. The first time he picked up the guitar he had me…

Great cinematography, beautiful camera movement and amazing lighting. Too bad no women were involved in the writing process so the sexualized lesbian kiss for male entertainment could have been prevented. Or, even worse, the my-husband-cheated-but-he-regrets-it-so-much-and-was-just-searching-for-his-masculinity-so-I-forgave-him storyline. Complete lack of female character depth ruined it for me!!!!!!! More female writers pronto!!!!
