Pamela getting this movie means everything to me. I latched onto her documentary and autobiography when it came out and I desperately wanted to see her get a chance to shine for the first time.
The movie was an absolutely amazing conduit for Pamela Anderson’s own life experiences. It was Shelly’s story but it was also Pamela’s own. Visually stunning, brilliantly heartbreaking, this movie has a special place in my heart! <3
There is an hypocrisy to this being on Netflix.
There's also further hypocrisy that I was assigned—in a university course about the dangers of unregulated tech monopolies—a documentary only accessible through a major media company.
Which is also why I personally think that logging this on a letterboxd account is, quite frankly, the least hypocritical action in this whole situation.
