Dìdi (弟弟) 2024
Dìdi has a wonderful depiction of skateboarding culture, something I’ve only seen in Mid90s, thus I was incredibly impressed. Throughout this film a deep feeling of nostalgia for adolescence was grudgingly met with a great sense of gratitude that the days of confusingly awkward teenage life are in the past. These conflicting feelings keep you attached to the main character, Chris, as you follow him along in his journey learning all the things you remember learning at 13. Dìdi reminds us that we all have an awkward, lonesome, emotional kid inside of us, and that’s ok.
