Good Will Hunting 1997
IMO kind of cringe, with bad therapy, quickly shifting themes, dry colors, corny writing and bad character writing. Like Will is sort of a bad person and the movie seems willfully ignorant of this in its “exploration” of him as a character. It kind of feels like they don’t really even try to explore him, but more so try to glorify him and make him this hero for just being smart. There’s like multiple characters made not as characters, but as vessels for this veneration.
The ending was also particularly gross in its quick forgiveness of Will.Translated from by -

Everything from the acting and characters to the great cinematography and interesting story. It just hits so hard. It’s a big great heartfelt, amazingly shot, masterfully told emotional roller coaster and you really feel every single emotion these amazing characters feel.
