A cruelly honest depiction of US youth, where numbness and boredom is a terrible weapon. The film intricately shocks the viewer with the bigger picture when you least expect it. Great characters, very well written script and just enough beautiful photography not to romanticize the story while giving it the spotlight it deserves. Not the ordinary coming of age tale nor the crime one, River’s Edge rather shows what’s hardest to believe: Humans that don’t give a shit.

Beautiful European art-film on love, attachment and sexuality. Love the subtlety and the study of the two main characters: Two flawed humans, one desiring to be desired and the other desiring to be able to desire. Nice photography and costume design. A window on a relationship that will stick with you.

Gummo is the most experimental and anticonformist American film I have ever seen. I doubt this film could have been made without a European cinematographer. Great balance of non-linear narrative and loose storytelling through characters, beautiful mix of media. This is to my knowledge the only movie that truly displays white poverty; not in a romanticised, victim-porn way. Very cool artefact of the American underground. 10/10 for unapologetic filmmaking and risk-taking.

A very interesting and bizarre Bowie film! This is iconic film material but overall too long, slow and unresolved to fully work as a film. The multiple layers of the narrative are too much combined with the intensity of the characters. Tried to do too much in one film. Questionable morality as well. Beautiful Bowie but kinda cringe.
