No deeper meaning, no musicality, feels like the script (AND SONGS) were written by A.I.. Couldn't get through the first 15 minutes, so watched some clips on Youtube. A disgusting creation that isn't worth to be called neither a musical, nor a movie. Just a disgrace to cinema, art and Mexico. Abhorrent.

I finally understand why this is the usual go-to for film bros, though they probably ignore the actual meaning of the movie. Very intense, lots of heartbreak in between the action shots. An unreliable narrator laid the foundation for this film, and knowing what's actually happening would make the second watch even more addicting.
A masterpiece, rightfully so.
