A Complete Unknown 2024
Great performances and beautifully shot, knocked off a star because I failed to really see him in the wider political fabric. He took part in the March on Washington and it was only a cut away clip??
I appreciate focusing on his relationships and thought the second half was really strong, but wished to see a bit more of his political divisiveness and what he fought for. Timmy did good tho 🫶

The Holdovers 2023
So beautiful, the shots in the snow almost feel warm. Loved the film fuzzy ness and the character dynamics. Also the brown and red hues of 70s fashion, yummy :-)).
I think films featuring grief really get to me, you find yourself willing them to all say something or reach out (that’s why I loved Mary, she says it how it IS!!).
With a film that could feel lonely or represent it constantly, this felt like a lovely piece on human connection and bonding. Thoroughly enjoyed give em da oscarsss!

The Kissing Booth 2018
Jacob Elordi’s pretty… pretty BAD!!! He plays the same abysmal fella in euphoria but this time it’s slightly more pg.
Fave part was when the totally forgettable but somehow grating lead cuts her head and when her best friend finds out he immediately accuses his brother (Elordi) of hurting her. What a sign that he’s a great guy…
I watched this years ago and that part stuck with me… why should that be romanticised?? ew make healthy romance plot lines for teens and tweens pls
