Not at all surprisingly, the vast majority of the reviews here are from left-wing political zealots who have never seen the movie, and have even less understanding of the way the world was during the 70's and 80's.

Having said that, the movie itself was mediocre in my opinion. Although I enjoyed it anyway because of my interest in history and the presidency. Dennis Quaid's performance though was objectively solid.

Brian De Palma's best film, and it's not even close.

The second best sci-fi movie ever made, behind only 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Seems like they had about 25% of a great concept, and said "ah, fuck it, let's just go ahead and shoot it right now". It had the makings of a good movie, but somehow never got out of second gear. A little too flat, and one dimensional for my taste. Definitely not one of Fincher's better films.
