  Hairspray 1988

  I am absolutely shocked how much I adore this. It's maybe the most thru-and-thru enjoyable John Waters movie? More than anything, it's an absolute love letter to otherness, and done in a way that only John Waters mind could conjure up, and for that alone I think it's incredible.

  It has Divine in and out of drag, Debbie Harry, sincere fat positivity, tackles racial issues, and most importantly of all, is just funny 99% of the time. What can I say?

  Barbara Crampton in From Beyond = wired and so intimidatingly hot it's unfair

  A great B-movie with some weird, quirky effects and enough vision that it's hard not to love, even if everything doesn't fully come together. The effects of the creatures from the titular beyond are various mixes of Freddy's Dead dream demons, The Thing body horror mashups, and Society shunting nightmare fuel.   Even knowing the infamous ending of Society couldn't hamper my enjoyment of it. What a bizarre fucking movie.

  There are so many strange line deliveries, weird acting choices, crazy effects, etc, that even trying to get into it would be too much. If you like strange movies, this is essential viewing 😭
