more than anything this is a really interesting historical piece. feels older than late 60s - I watched a weird AI-colorized version on YouTube with strange shifting pastel colours. Extremely Soviet in its moralism and idealistic pontificating alongside the casual misogyny (IM ALLOWED TO SAY THIS). second story of the boy comforting the older lady was emotionally the strongest. the street interviews are probably the most interesting part - basically all the men featured in those were so awful it’s hilarious. that’s a real time capsule baby!
