A Real Pain 2024
Quippy and charming — at points incredibly uncomfortable. Rich characterization injected so much life into the various dynamics of this story! Emotional and funny and confronting. Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin both did an exceptional job in bringing complexity to their characters. I think the highlight for me was David’s mid-film monologue where he describes the contradictory love and pain he feels towards Benji. Very raw.
