Apostle 2018
Apostle is really good. It’s certainly more thriller than horror, however there’s is one particularly brutal scene which I’m genuinely still thinking about. The cinematography did a good job of immersing me with the characters as well as creating a destination between the cults outward persona and it’s dark side. One shot in particular that I though was fantastic was when Thomas was walking up the hill and the masts from the boat appear like the crucifixes upon Golgotha. Fantastic…

The Silence of the Lambs 1991
Absolutely brilliant movie. The cinematography (especially in scenes of dialogue) creates an immense sense of claustrophobia and a disorienting atmosphere. It’s story is gripping throughout. Clarice isn’t the typical “strong cop lady” we usually see, as she is plagued with self doubt despite clearly being very competent, which makes her a far more compelling character. Hannibal Lecter’s dialogue is beautifully grotesque. Masterpiece.

Vice 2018
Vice is a pretty good movie. If you’re into US politics this film will please you greatly. Surprisingly enough the film does not particularly pander to any political sides which is nice and refreshing. I’d recommend it to any fans of Christian Bale as he certainly doesn’t disappoint.
