This is the most Kafka-esque movie I’ve seen (and as a big fan of Kafka, I really enjoyed it). The dark, nightmarish vibe, narrow alleyways, the locked cash register, the 20 dollar bill flying out the taxi window, the strange, seductive women, the angry mob. I’m sure Joseph Minion, Joe Frank, and Martin Scorsese had Kafka in mind while crafting this story. It felt like experiencing a troubled dream where things gets in the way of accomplishing even the simplest of tasks and one can never make it to one’s destination.

American Factory 2019
This is an IMPORTANT documentary to watch. It really gets to the heart of important differences between American and Chinese culture and values. It seems there is a lot the Americans can learn from the Chinese and vise-versa. Also, no spoilers (well sort of spoilers in a way) but the final interview with the chairman of the glass company Cao Dewang is profound and touching. Damn this movie hit me hard. It's so raw...so vulgar.
