  I think i unfairly disliked this movie because i got influenced by the social media response to it. Visually this movie was so good and anxiety inducing, you don’t trust anything and it had a wonderfully fucked ending for sure.

  I can see how/why arronofsky was so influenced by Tetsuo the Iron man for this movie. Not just in the visuals and settings. The obsession that Max has that leads him to a complete unraveling has shades of all of Tsukamoto’s “protagonists”. I like this movie more than most of Arronofsky’s others purely for its grittiness, and just mental depravity.

  Lux Æterna 2019

  I decided this was gonna be a perfect movie to watch while tripping on acid. It absolutely made me spiral and it was kind of the most horribly perfect pairing. The stop start visuals, the fluttering strobes and the pulsing sounds made up for what was a what felt like plot secondary movie. It did really feel like a modern witch burning in the panic anxiety and just overall balance of power and honestly, I think this is an experience worth the potential headache or seizure.

  This movie while unfinished, was just absolute eye candy. The plot got a little convoluted and it was a bit long. But on visuals alone this movie is just such an incredible experience.
