  i kind of agree with a lot of people here - seems like signature bong (from what i hear, i only saw snowpiercer and parasite, not any of his weirder stuff), but a little bloated and incohesive. but honestly one thing i kept thinking about was how the FUCK did they film all the scenes with doubles?? genuinely very impressive.

  a truly mythic film. there's so much going on here culturally that must be totally incomprehensible to non-balkan audiences. how would i even begin to explain to the americans what a bleja is? would they even care to know?

  with that in mind, i'm taking the one star off for the sexual assault bit. i guess something in this film had to age egregiously poorly.
