  I’m typically averse to characters simply being avatars for good morals, but the politics in Mononoke are so terrifyingly relevant that it overshadows the lack of emotional depth so prevelant in animated fantasy epics.

  Imagine going to sleep in Alien and waking up in Aliens. That’s fucked up.

  There was a DS game called Aliens: Infestation, and it had a mini game where you play as Bishop and you use the DS stylus to do his knife trick. Great game. Totally recommend it.

  Murders in the Zoo 1933

  ★★★ Watched 20 Oct 2023

  In the first minute the villain stitches another man’s mouth shut, and we get to see it up close. Gruesome stuff. 

  Again, the broad comedy relief character is the weakest aspect. Becoming my least favorite trope of films from this era.
