The Boogeyman 2023
The Boogeyman, Rob Savage’s first bigger-budget horror film, isn’t terrible. The camerawork is creative and he effectively builds tension in a few genuinely suspenseful scenes. Performances were solid too: Dastmalchian is the highlight (as usual), Messina is good (also as usual) and the girl from Kenobi is great and is the heart of the film. But all of that is dragged down by some annoying horror tropes and sunken by shabby effects.
