The Sand Castle 2024
I found myself struggling to stay engaged with this film, ultimately having to skip through parts due to boredom. Much of it felt forced and inauthentic, despite my efforts to give it a fair chance. It was particularly disappointing because I’ve seen these actors deliver excellent performances in other projects, yet here, their talent felt underutilized. The film seemed more focused on showcasing its Netflix-sized budget with flashy cinematography rather than developing a meaningful or immersive story. While I can appreciate the good intentions behind it, the execution left much to be desired.

The movie did a good job portraying the time period visually but I think it confused it self in what it was trying be and where it wanted to go. There were some good moments portraying some B movie Gags (not enough to see it as a parody of that) as well as a few jokes about default man behavior in that era which was entertaining.
