Being going to the cinema since the late 50s. Too late to change now.

Not a bad effort. Good central performance by Donald Pleasance which, by all accounts, captured the nature of the man. Set during the trial with the actual events told in flashback.

Coral Browne is his doomed wife and Samantha Eggar plays his mistress Ethel Le Neve. Photography throughout is unremarkable apart from a beautiful shot of Ms Eggar, all in black, turning and walking away from camera whilst the end credits roll. Director of Photography was a certain Nic Roeg.

Oh dear. I didn't think this would be as bad as it is. For Bava completists (like me) only.

WWII, Russia and two Partizans take a man suspected of collaborating with the nazi's into the woods to execute him. What follows is a drama told through use of flashbacks so we see how each of the three came to be in this position. Slow and deliberate story telling satisfies the patient viewer.

Worth pointing out that this marathon 700+ minute fan documentary could do with a little, er, editing. A 2 hour cut would probably be 4* but I doubt anything ended up on the cutting room floor. Still worth a look as they get all the main players apart from Clive Barker himself. Strange.
