  I knew 30 minutes in that this was going to be an easy 5. What a brutally realistic movie, one I'd compare to 2 of my all time favorites, INSIDE LLEWYN DAVIS and SIDEWAYS. Not to say I have experienced the ups and downs of a relationship portrayed in this movie but rather that I fear it might become my reality. But then I think, "there's a lot of good times too. Why think about the worst case scenario." Maybe I have to stop being so damn scared. It's just a movie right?

  I appreciate the look and feel of this movie. Hong King is this hustling, bustling megacity yet the movie only focuses on a few intimate, mundane locations. Makes the story these characters go through more relatable.

  I knew going in that this movie had the highest ceiling of anything that's released so far this year. I need another rewatch to give this movie the proper review it deserves but I can say it feels like the 2025 movie season has officially kicked off. The Oscars have taken a lot of the buzz away from new releases over these first two months but now we're getting bangers like this and it's just getting started.
